Mesick Its’ People and Places Volume 6

“May your magic continue to weave its spell on all who live and visit here.”

By Nancy Sanders

Mesick has a wide and varied history to select from in writing a book about.  Our volume 6 will share stories about building bridges, county farms, a church history, our law and order over the years, besides school news, Native Americans, and all about mushroom hunting.  One story, in particular, was more interesting to research than others “Passenger Train and Light Engine Collide.”  It is interesting to let your mind wander to the day when these antidotes took place.  How is our world different now than it was then? People were ingenious in making plans work with so few tools to work with back then.  Pioneer newspapermen left us a trail to follow amongst their writings about what news happened 50 to 100 years ago until the radio come along. The history is there, we just have to search it out and that is what our stories are about.  Enjoy.
